2012 Mayan Calendar Doomsday or Ascension (2009) 1 of 3
from www.in5d.com and http Many people believe the Mayan calendar represents the end of the world by December 21, 2012 through a doomsday or apocalypse scenario. Other people will agree that these are the “end times” but also believe we may be witnessing the beginning of the “Golden Age” and the Age of Aquarius through a DNA upgrade. By 2012, some believe we will see a return of Planet X or Nibiru and are trying to figure out how to survive 2012. There are also people who believe nothing will happen by 2012. Who is right? The most accurate 2012 predictions come from ancient civilizations, such as the Mayan, Aztec, Hopi, Hindu and Egyptian calendars, and all agree on the Maya December 21, 2012 end date. On that day at 11:11 am, the earth will be in the exact alignment with the sun and the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. This is a rare astrological event that occurs once every 26000 years. The earth will also undergo a Precession of the Equinoxes by this date. This event occurs only once every 26000 years. Is this a coincidence or synchronicity? What is your opinion of what will happen by 2012? Tell us on our 2012 Forum! Time is cyclic. There is an old saying, “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” The Mayans were obsessed with time and placed great importance on the December 21, 2012 end date. The Mayan calendar is based on five cycles of time with each period lasting 5125 years. We are now at the end of one of these cycles. We are also at the end …
Surviving Summer With the Children
Ah! School is almost over for another year. Over will be days filled with getting up and getting to school on time, homework, last minute school projects and school programs. For about two weeks after school ends everyone is loving life. But then reality sets in. Children become bored. The parent’s normal schedule is gone. The rest of the summer is a constant challenge.
As a young mother, “Summer Vacation” was a real challenge. I had seven children, very little money, a small hot house and a husband that was out of town most of the time. It was enough to drive the most stable mother to the edge of insanity. So, we would pack up the old station wagon with a picnic lunch and find places to go. Over the years we visited every park, lake and canyon in three counties. We visited museums, went to community events and toured local factories. Once a month we would go somewhere that required money such as a zoo or amusement park. Our summer days were busy and fun.
I was lucky in many ways that I had the ability to stay home with my children. In today’s world most parents have to work to survive. This only compounds the problem of keeping children constructively busy during summer vacation. It is a proven fact that when most children are left to their own devices for extended periods of time they tend to get into trouble.
What is a parent to do? The key to surviving the summer is planning. It is good to provide a variety of activities. Whether as a parent you have the time to spend with your children or you leave them with someone while you work, it is important to have a plan. Even if you work, it is important to plan time with your children doing constructive and fun activities. Spending time with our children will create lasting memories and traditions that will be handed down for generations. These are some activities that have worked well for others.
1. Museums. Everywhere there are museums. Most counties have may museums. Museums can be entertaining as well as educational.
2. Parks. Pack a picnic lunch and visit a different park every week until you have found all the parks in your area.
3. Reading Chart. It is important for children to keep reading over the summer or they can loose some of the progress they have made. Make a chart and have rewards for certain numbers of pages read. There can be small rewards for a few pages read and then when a larger number of pages are accomplished a trip or large item can be the reward.
4. Neighborhood Carnival. Have your children plan a carnival for the neighborhood. They can make up games and serve bags of popcorn or candy.
5. Theme Days. There are many days that celebrate everything from donuts to airplanes. Hera are a few examples: National Doughnut day in June 6th, Space Day is July 16th and Peter Rabbit Day is July 28th. Research what days fall in your schedule and plan activities for the day around the theme.
6. Nature Scavenger Hunt. Send the children into the yard or neighborhood or take them to a park. Have them find as many different kinds of leaves and rocks that they can. When they are done, have them research what kind of leaves and rocks they are and then have them make a picture or craft out of the items.
7. Bird watching. Obtain a book about birds. Make binoculars by gluing two toilet paper rolls together and having the children decorate them. Send them out with their binoculars to look for as many different kind of birds as they can. Making and hanging a bird feeder will attract birds to your yard.
8. Meals. Let each child help plan and prepare a meal each week.
9. Historical Sites. Every town has a history. Find the historical sites in your area, learn about them and visit them.
10. Tye dye. Learn how to tye dye clothes. Buy white T-shirts and let the children design their own shirts.
As you plan out your activities you will have a lot of fun, create memories and most importantly, retain your sanity as you go through the summer months.

Surviving a Breakup: 5 Steps to Help You Cope
A breakup can take its toll on anyone who suffers one. It makes some people stop living because the pain is too much to bear. All you want to do is get a second chance with your ex. The pain, however hard it may be, should not stop you from living your life and getting a second chance with your ex. There are 5 tips to help you survive your breakup and achieve that objective.
(1) Staying Active
It is very important to stay active even though all you want to do is sit on the couch, watch sad movies and eat ice cream all day long. This kind of behavior does not help your cause. Instead, get out and about. See your family and friends and earn their respect as well as the respect of your ex.
(2) Avoid Negative Behavior
Don’t start drinking or using drugs to cope with the breakup. These things will only hurt your chances to getting back together with your ex. It may also lead you to doing some “drunk dialing”. That means calling your ex late at night and pouring your heart out. Nope. This is not a good route.
(3) Avoid Contact
Do not go out of your way to see your ex for some time. If you try to talk with them during the initial breakup, it just adds to the stress you and your ex are feeling. Instead, stay away and don’t talk which can make your ex miss you. Isn’t that what you want after all?
(4) Put Together a Plan
If you want a second chance with your ex, you’ll want to put together a plan that achieves that. Don’t let your emotions rule over you. Instead, follow your mind in this case. Keep to the plan no matter how lonely you feel.
(5) Disappointment
Sometimes relationships don’t always work out. If this happens, don’t feel disappointed about it. Remember this phrase… when one door shuts, another door opens. There is someone out there for you. You just need to look.
Instead of mopping over your ex, you need to learn to get over it with grace and dignity. However, when he or she decides to come back around, make him work for your attention. Surviving a breakup is not an easy thing to do for some but there’s no point crying over some losers who do not deserve you.

Surviving Hard Times – How To Do It
Surviving hard times is not so much about learning how to be tough or eating cheap noodles as it is about careful planning and self control. First, lets consider a worst-case scenario. Suppose we are entering another great depression. It’s worth noting that at it’s worst last time, there was 25% unemployment, but that meant 75% of people who wanted jobs had them.
Step number one for surviving hard times then, is to try to be in that 75% (and the good news is that it’s more likely that 85% will retain jobs this time around). If you are in an industry which is likely to face large job losses, then, start looking around at what else you can do. Learn some new skills if necessary, but at least have an idea of where you’ll immediately start applying for jobs if your current one is lost.
Make yourself important where you currently work as well. If you are the only one there who knows how to run some machine or fill out some forms or any other obscure task which is essential, you are less likely to be let go. You may want to find ways to save the company money as well. Be the employee that management can’t afford to lose.
Whatever you do, a job can be lost, and if lost at the worst time it may mean months before you can find another. Prepare for this possibility. How do you do that? There are three basic steps you can start taking right now.
1. Start Stocking Up
You may not have the money to go out right now and buy two months worth of food and household necessities. But what you can almost certainly do is buy a little bit more than normal each time you go shopping. In this way you can stock up on everything from toilet paper to canned peas. Have enough food and other items stashed away to survive a loss of income for a couple months if possible.
2. Start Saving Money
This is the time to start saving money (okay, maybe it’s always the time). Build that savings account up until you have enough to live on for at least several months without falling behind on any bills. And though it may sound extreme to some, having a few hundred dollars of that in cash – perhaps hidden in your basement – is not such a bad idea. Bank failures have happened before, and it can take a few weeks for the FDIC to sort things out.
3. Reduce Your Expenses
This is one of the most important steps you can take. Suppose you are living on $2,500 per month, and after losing your job you have to take a $7 per hour fast food position for a while? What would happen? Not too much if you had cut your basic expenses in half before you lost the job.
First, pay down any debt you have as fast as you can. Start with the highest-interest debt – most likely your credit cards. I normally would not recommend rolling such debts into a home-refinance (you essentially convert short-term debt into long-term debt and pay far more in interest as a result). But if it seems likely that you will be losing your job, you may want to reduce your monthly payments by converting them into a lower house payment.
Look at every single thing that you regularly spend money on and find ways to reduce the cost of each. It might be the right time to refinance your home. You can install fluorescent bulbs all over the house to cut electrical costs, turn down the thermostat when you are out, buy a low-flow shower head. Maybe you will even decide to cut back to one car instead of two.
Surviving Hard Times – A Review
Made yourself indispensable at work. Explore other job possibilities. Learn new skills if necessary for other employment. Have a contingency plan or two. These are the steps to take so you’ll be one of those who stay employed.
Stock up your cupboards. Start setting aside some money for hard times. Pay down debts. Find a way to live on less and make it a habit. These are the steps to take so that even if you lose your job you’ll be okay until you find the next one.
By the way, this isn’t just a recipe for surviving hard times. It will also make you more financially secure in any economic circumstances. In fact, if your job seems secure, and you have taken the steps outlined above, you may find that you have enough excess income to take a nice vacation.

Surviving Bankruptcy: Qualifying For Credit And Loans
When many people think about surviving bankruptcy, they are usually worried about whether or not they will be able to qualify for credit and loans in the future.
So how does one go about surviving bankruptcy? First, you need to put together a game plan – then focus on working that plan.
For example, let’s say that qualifying for credit and loans is one of your concerns when it comes to surviving bankruptcy – and by the way, it’s a valid concern.
So what would your “surviving bankruptcy” game plan look like when it comes to qualifying for credit and loans? Here are three steps you could follow:
Surviving Bankruptcy Step #1: Rebuild your credit
Rebuilding your credit as soon as possible is critical when it comes to surviving bankruptcy. Why? Because rebuilding your credit history can increase your credit score. This in turn can mean the difference between qualifying or being declined for a loan. Second, if you increase your credit score enough it could help you get a lower interest rate – as a result, you could end up saving $100s or even $1,000s in extra interest.
Surviving Bankruptcy Step #2: Know how the credit approval process works
This is another key part of your surviving bankruptcy game plan. You need to know what lenders look for when evaluating a credit application, and how to use that information to your advantage. I cover this in detail in After Bankruptcy Credit Solutions. Timing is also critical – a lot of people who have had a bankruptcy get this wrong when applying for a loan.
Surviving Bankruptcy Step #3: Know how to apply for credit
If you’ve followed steps 1 and 2, then you’re ready for step three. One key part in step 3 is knowing which lenders to apply with. If you don’t, you could end up being in for disappointing results – which can make surviving bankruptcy unnecessarily difficult. Also, once you do find the right lender you want to reduce your interest expenses – there are specific steps you can take that can save you up to $100s or even $1,000s of dollars. There is not enough room to cover them here, but I do go through them in After Bankruptcy Credit Solutions.
So now you know some steps you can take when it comes to surviving bankruptcy as far as credit and loans are concerned. Of course, much will depend on your personal financial situation, age of your bankruptcy, credit score, etc. But hopefully, you can use them as a starting point when it comes to credit and loans after bankruptcy.
