Man has been fascinated with the doomsday scenario, and never more prevalent than now as we ascend from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius December 21st, 2012. Researcher of ancient civilizations Graham Hancock talks about the Mayan prophecy of 2012 and the science aspect of it The calendar cosmology of the ancient Maya of Central America states that the world is due for renewal in the years around AD 2012. Recent breakthroughs in understanding the astronomical underpinnings of this “millennial” temporal turning point show thatthe Maya believed a rare alignment of the solstice sun with the Milky Way (or Galactic Plane) would be responsible for an era of great transformation on earth. We can refer to this event as a Galactic Alignment.
